I was born in New York City and spent the first four years of my life there. Subsequently, I moved to Bethesda, MD and have since spent my life living in the DC Metropolitan Area.
Despite having been born in the United States, my first language was Greek and I speak that conversationally. I have also taken six years of Spanish and am fluent in reading, writing, and conversing.
Having joined a variety of organizations throughout the years, I have lived my life through a series of principles and beliefs the epitomize the best of what I have experienced. The guiding cardinal values in my life are virtue, diligence, and respect. Without honesty, trust can never be earned; without hard work, success will never be achieved; without respect, one will never be decent. To complement these values I also strive to have a sound mind and a sound body ("Mens sana in corpore sano"). This means to keep pushing myself intellectually, both with academics and for personal knowledge. It also means to exercise regularly, eat healthily, and refrain from engaging in narcotics or other actions that jeapordize the body.
Always striving to excel, I took several advanced placement courses in high school to earn me college credit. While I was an undergraduate at the University of Maryland, College Park I enlisted in a dual BA/MPP program. After graduating with my BA and then subsequently a year later with my MPP, I decided to go on and begin my PhD. I am currently a third year doctoral student and close to finishing.
